'Khaki Fever' was a phenomenon where young girls in Britain at the start of World War I were especially attracted to men in uniform. Huh.
From the April 1915 The Police Review:
“The new conditions of life which followed the
mobilization of troops on an unprecedented scale presented difficult problems
to the authorities—both military and police—in dealing with girls and women
susceptible to the influence of khaki.”
". . . susceptible to the influence of khaki." Nice.
