The Middle Ground, Again

I am trying, for the second time, to wrap my head around the concept of the 'middle ground.' At the moment, it's not looking pretty.

But this quote by Phillip J. Deloria is at least somewhat helpful:

"The singular strength of The Middle Ground is the way it takes a murky terrain of social and cultural ambiguity that has all too easily been named in abstract terms and demonstrates in specific detail exactly how it worked."

I'm still far from getting there, but what is life but a journey...
