'Modern' British History

At the request of one of my professors, I checked out a textbook from the library to gain a better understanding of modern British history, since 1688.

One of the first quotes that stuck with me was this:

"Good God! That we should live in such an age, when me call God to protect them in a rebellion." - Judge George Jeffreys

It was 1685.

Good, so we're not into what we consider 'modern' British history yet. That's a relief.
