Conceiving a New World Order

Again, whilst reading to prepare for my exam, I came across this little bit that essentially summarizes the paper that I just wrote about infant and maternal welfare in Edwardian England. Seems it must be a recurring phenomenon...

“Institutions may intervene into areas such as birth control, abortion, and maternal and child health in the name of social need or national priorities but fail to acknowledge the impact of these interventions on the lives of women and their communities.”
From the introduction of Ginsburg and Rapp's Conceiving the New World Order: The Global Politics of Reproduction.
